Winston, Jack, and I had a chance to meet my brother’s first child this weekend. Madisyn is incredibly tiny, she weighs about 6 lbs and she has a lot of Deem characteristics (no that doesn’t mean she is amazing at Slow Pitch softball, she just has some facial features that Deem’s have).
Afterwards, my family visiting my parents and Winston scooted along in his cart along the hardwood floors, he figured it out pretty quickly and loved the impact of collisions, he scooted across the floor into table, chairs, and sometimes Lucy (my parent’s Bulldog).
Sunday is where it all went down. The Bulldogs softball team managed to blow a 16-5 lead and lose 18-16. We lost, but it was the most fun we’ve had in awhile. We were losing by 2 runs and there were 2 people on base for me in the bottom of the last inning. I had a chance to be a hero and win the game, but grounded out to the Short Stop instead, it was pretty pathetic.
My fantasy football team is still winless too. I put up some decent points, but 3 of my players that I was relying on heavily are hurt, it doesn’t look like things will turn around this season.
Sunday night, I hung out with the gang at Tomato’s to watch the Phillies clinch the division and then watch the football games. We had discounted pints and 25 cent chicken wings, it was glorious. I was listening to the Phillies game on AM radio on my way to Tomato’s, I actually had a couple of tears come to my eyes when I knew they were going to win it. I’ve been to so many games and I followed so many of their teams over the years, it was unbelievable that this team sneaked into the playoffs. Jaclyn and I have watched nearly every game this season, they are a blast to watch, but with their pitching, they had no right winning the division. I tip my hat to the batting order, these guys are fun to watch.
After the games, I watched Knocked Up. Funny, funny, funny movie. Very inappropriate, probably wouldn’t recommend it to someone’s parents, but it really made us laugh.
Caught the last half of the Eagles game, poor Donovan Mcnabb, that guy got drilled on every play.
Winston just woke up and I have to get going to work.
